I went on a first date tonight. It was with a beautiful girl, quite a bit younger than me. She’s got an amazing smile and the darkest eyes you’ve ever seen. She’s really funny too. We were laughing for the whole time. There was a bit of a language barrier, I’m not going to lie, but we both knew what the other meant.
I’m talking, of course, about Darcey! Kate went out with a couple of work friends so I thought it would be cool to go out, just the two of us. I got home and she was all dressed up and looking beautiful. Luckily, I’m making an effort with my appearance at work so I looked at least presentable!
We went to the Beefeater in Emersons Green because I wanted to go somewhere close but where I could also book a table. Also we love the food here!
I didn’t get a picture but as we went to our table, Darcey’s highchair was right in front of us with a balloon tied to it and crayons and paper in front of it – they were prepared!
Towards the end of the evening a lady walked by the table and asked how old Darcey was. I told her that she was 18 months. She’d been watching her (in a non-creepy way!) and said that she was the best behaved 18 month old she’d ever seen. Of course, it was because she had food but I didn’t want to give away any secrets.
It’s awesome going out as a family but sometimes, it’s cool just being the two of us.
This was the reaction I got when I asked if we could split the bill…
…not really, this is the joy icecream brings!
We’ll definitely be having lots more dates
